ROLE OF AUTOMATION IN TECHNOLOGY

Automation plays an important part in the great advances in technology. Automation, properly coordinated with other phases of technology, can substantially contribute to high productive efficiency.

Advanced automation is impossible without computers. Computer science is a relatively new and exciting field of study and research. It is a board discipline, covering logic design, hardware, the theory of computation, numerical analysis, programming and computer application.

There are different kinds of computers. Some do only one job over and over again. There are special-purpose computers. One such computer automatically controls the movement of anti-aircraft canon. It was built for this purpose alone, and cannot do anything else. But there are some computers that can do many different jobs. They are called general-purpose computers. They answer question about rockets and planes, bridges and ships long before these things are even built.

Today there are computers small enough to carry in one’s pocket or about the size of a typewriter. These new computers are called personal computers. Computers help our space programme, our armed forces, our business and industry, sports and medicine. Computers are the most efficient servants man has ever had and is no limit for their application in improving our lives and saving time for leisure (rest and recreation).

Computers are capable of doing extremely complicated work in all branches of learning. They can solve the most complicated mathematical problems or put thousands or unrelated facts in order. As computers work accurately and at high speeds, they save research workers years of hard work. This whole process, by which machines can be used to work for us, is called automation. Automation will have important social consequences.

1.) Прочитайте текст, указанный преподавателем и письменно ответьте по-английски на вопросы, следующие за текстом.

2.) Найдите в тексте, выпишите  и переведите на русский язык предложения, в которых употреблены модальные глаголы и их эквиваленты.

Ответ:

3.) Найдите в тексте предложения, содержащие глаголы to be и to have.Определить функцию этих глаголов в предложении. Переведите предложения( по одному предложению на каждую функцию глаголов to be и to have.)

• There are different kinds of computers.(настоящее время, мн. Число) ;
• It was built for this purpose alone, and cannot do anything else.(прошедшее время ,ед. Число).

4.) Найдите в тексте , выпишите и переведите на русский язык предложения, в которых употреблены неопределенные местоимения some, any, no, every и их производные.

Ответ:

• Some do only one job over and over again. ;
• But there are some computers that can do many different jobs. ;
• . Computers are the most efficient servants man has ever had and is no limit for their application in improving our lives and saving time for leisure (rest and recreation).

5.) Найдите в тексте, выпишите и переведите на русский язык предложения, в которых употреблено Participle I и Participle II, подчеркните их. Установите функцию каждого из них , т.е. укажите , является ли оно определением, обстоятельством или частью глагольного сказуемого.

Ответ:

• Advanced automation is impossible without computers.;
• They can solve the most complicated mathematical problems or put thousands or unrelated facts in order.

6.) Поставьте глагол-сказуемое одного предложения во все временные формы группы Perfect Active, произведя все необходимые смысловые изменения.

Ответ:

• He has already helped me. (Present perfect)

          (он уже помог мне).

• He had  already helped me, before my friend came.(Past Perfect)

(Он уже помог мне, когда мои друзья пришли).

• He will already have helped by tomorrow.(Future Perfect)

          (Он поможет мне к завтрашнему утру.)

7.) Напишите выделенные слова в транскрипции и переведите предложения на русский язык.

Ответ:

1. We used this method in our work. [ juzed  ]

(мы использовали этот метод в нашей работе.)

2. After his work he used to go the library.[ jused ]

(После работы он ходил в библиотеку.)

8.) Определите тип придаточных предложений. Переведите их на русский язык.

1. It is strange that has already come.

(Странно, что он уже пришел.)

2. The question is if they will be allowed to visit the party.

(Вопрос заключается в том,  что позволят ли им прийти  на вечер)

3. We know where she lives.

(Мы знает где она живет.)

4. People who can neither hear nor speak talk other with the help of their fingers.(Люди которые не могут не слышать, не говорить общаются с помощью жестов.)

5. She must speak louder so that everybody can hear her well.

(Она должна говорить, чтобы её  хорошо было слышно.)

9.) Выполните письменно контрольно-тренировочное упражнение 12 из упражнений второго семестра.

 Упражнение №12. Переведите на русский язык.
