Document 2.

  • The origin of the text is Lloyd George`s  Caxton Hall speech, 5 of January. During the First World War. Russia was trying to make peace.

The purpose is to explain the British war aims had for Europe after the first world war.

The importance is to know what intensions the British had, to prevent a war from                    happening again in Europe.

This is a plan written after the war, and they`re proposing a plan, that we know doesn`t overcome with the American one, and their 14 points.

Limitations -

  • That if there should start a war, the British and the allies should prevent it.
  • Russia accepted war with all it horrors. The present rulers of Russia are now engaged without any reference to the countries whom Russia brought into the war, in separate negotiations with their common enemy.
  • Belgium – independence.

France  - those parts of France , which Germany took over, should be returned.

Serbia -  reparation of injustice and permanent peace. The same goes for Italy and Romania.

    Poland – independence.
